Today: Madame Squeeze.

AYCM-Author Peter Jagla found six street musicians who are busking on King Street.

Every third day, AllYouCanMeet introduces a new musician or alternatively band.

Alan Potter was the first one to play in the series. Today it is Madame Squeeze’ turn.

Name?

My name is Madame Squeeze.

Age?

I’m 28.

How many instruments do you play?

I play accordion, a little bit of piano, a little bit of guitar, a little bit of flute, a little bit of irish tin whistle and the Kazoo.

Why do you play in Newtown?

It’s a good place to make money, yeah.

How often?

I play in Newtown usually three nights a week. This is what I do for a living. That’s enough to make a small living. So I can afford my rent, second hand clothes, food, yeah.

What do you like most about Newtown?

I like the people. There is so many different kinds of people. You know, it is a very accepting, open-minded place. There is artists and musicians, there is university student, there is hippies. There is all kind of people.

What do you hate about the Suburb?

Aehm, there is nothing in Newtown I hate, actually.
